To create a better destination, benefiting both visitors and residents by supporting education and service.

Studies have identified that Fort Wayne has abundant events for residents to enjoy, but they are not always aware that they exist. Creating and promoting one unified source for Fort Wayne event information will encourage people to discover the events and activities that are of interest to them, and get involved and engaged in their community. There is no shortage of amazing activities of every type in Fort Wayne, but we, as a community, haven't done enough to collectively promote the fact that they exist.
Our campaign focuses on educating people that this is an active and vibrant city and that they now have easy access to the growing number of events that support that claim. We believe that a powerful Calendar of Events- Current Fort Wayne will help residents get involved and be more likely to make connections with their community. Over time, it will gain its own identity as the foundation of community event promotion.

Visit Fort Wayne is the nonprofit organization whose purpose is to expand Fort Wayne’s economy by attracting convention and leisure visitors. Every year, $576 million in visitor spending increases commerce, sustains jobs and enhances Fort Wayne’s image. Visit Fort Wayne’s current funding enables them to complete their mission,
but there is abundant opportunity to make the community a more vibrant destination for visitors and residents.
The Foundation’s goal is to fill the gap, bringing those programs and opportunities to our residents, thereby enhancing both the visitor and resident experience.
- Providing resident programs that improve quality of life
- Educating our frontline hospitality staff – improving the treatment of our guests
- Attracting and retaining new residents
- Insuring that our community’s future development is visitor-minded
- Building a city that attracts visitors and offers a better quality of life for those who live here.

Funding Needs
We are still in need of more funding to help continue our marketing and education efforts in our community about Current Fort Wayne- Fort Wayne's first comprehensive community calendar.
The Visit Fort Wayne Foundation is also hoping to create educational training videos for our guest-facing/frontline employees that can better educate them on what there is to see and do in Fort Wayne. These videos would be free to our hospitality industries in our community and would help focus on destination awareness.
Another hope of the Foundation is to create Fort Wayne Community Artwork that can engage our residents/visitors by sharing photos of their experience and pride in Fort Wayne through social media.
